“Good Signing…” Ferdinand Already Likes What He Has Seen From Arsenal Star Who Has Made Just One League Start

Rio Ferdinand has been impressed with Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira despite the Portuguese international having only started his first league match against Brentford last weekend.

The £34m summer signing did get on the scoresheet on Saturday and, as well as being wowed by Vieira’s long-range strike, Ferdinand says he has also liked what he has seen of the player’s all-round game:

“Vieira’s goal was top. Lovely goal. He looks a really good player by the way, good signing.”

With Vieira stepping in for the injured Martin Odegaard, it looks as if the Gunners have a fair amount of depth when it comes to the number 10 position.

Emile Smith Rowe can also play the role so you can’t see creativity being an issue for Mikel Arteta’s side this season, but it will be interesting to find out how often Vieira is handed starts going forward.

After overcoming a foot injury that hampered his ability to settle in at the Emirates, he now looks to be firing on all cylinders and he will be pressing hard for more opportunities in upcoming fixtures.
