Arsenal fans are loving the glistening form of January signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabon international was on-hand again at the weekend in the Gunners’ narrow 3-2 victory over struggling Southampton to take his total in an Arsenal shirt to six goals in seven Premier League games.
Arsene Wenger’s men went behind early on courtesy of a rare Shane Long goal on 17 minutes, however the Saints lead was short-lived when Aubameyang prodded home from close range to level the scores.
Two goals from Danny Welbeck either side of a Charlie Austin equaliser sealed all three points for the Gunners and take them to within touching distance of fifth placed Chelsea.
Aubmeyang’s goal was his fifth in his last four games and his seventh since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund in January in a club record deal.
The Gabonese striker got off to a dream start in Red when he found his the goal on his debut in a 5-1 win over Everton.
After then going two to flight games without a goal, Aubameyang has since showed the kind of goal-scoring form that saw him establish himself as one of Europe’s elite strikers over the past few seasons.
Strikes against Brighton and Watford, a sensational brace versus Stoke City and of course this weekend’s strike now make him the club’s fourth top scorer this season despite only joining in late January.
Questions were raised when Aubameyang joined the club, however it seems he has thus far proven his doubters wrong …
Canny finish from Aubameyang. A natural and prolific goal scorer.

Still kind of surreal that we have Aubameyang at the club, ngl.

18 goals scored in the last 6 games. Our attack looks the most fluid in years, maybe letting go the player that was holding the ball for way too long was the right choice. Aubameyang has been better for us than Alexis was going to be. Win.

Aubameyang is still the second leading goalscorer in the Bundesliga despite leaving almost four months ago. What a player.
