Arsenal are likely to step up their interest in Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino “soon” according to Goal journalist Ruben Uria.
The Spanish reporter claims that Villarreal have “yet to receive a formal proposal” from the Gunners, despite suggestions that a bid has already been made.
However, that is “expected to change soon” with Mikel Arteta’s side keen to make a move for Pino before the transfer window closes later this month.
Although the 19-year-old does have an €80m (£68m) release clause, it is believed that Villarreal are willing to sell the player for a fee significantly below that price.
If Arsenal were to bid in the region of €45m (£38m), Uria feels that the London club will be able to secure the signature of Pino.
While Uria’s colleague at Goal, Charles Watts, has not backed up this report yet, it does seem as though there is concrete interest in the teenager which will likely lead to an official offer.
