With Tottenham having appointed Jose Mourinho, it means one of the primary candidates to replace Unai Emery as Arsenal has been removed from the equation.
Although there have been a few managers that have led both the Gunners and Spurs, it also means that the Portuguese is highly unlikely to manage at the Emirates in the future.
There has been a mixed reaction on Twitter to Mourinho’s appointment among Arsenal fans:
Glad he’s not coming near Arsenal! ?

Unless Levy backs him which he never has ever for any other manager then it’s a car crash

Considering the rancour between Mourinho and Arsene Wenger, it would have been hard to see the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager at the Gunners anyway.
No doubt, Spurs now have a proven manager who has won at least one trophy at every club he has been that, but it looks like an ill-thought-out decision considering the Portuguese’s tendency to implode.
Arsenal supporters will be keeping their fingers’ crossed that this appointment fails to have the impact that their London rivals are hoping for.
