Olivier Giroud found himself in a media storm when pictures of him leaked out in the press wearing just his under wear in a team hotel, a night before Arsenal’s league encounter against Crystal Palace. He then admitted on Twitter to letting down his wife, his family, his manager, his team and his fans. He also said that he was asking for their forgiveness, and was pleading not to be fined by the club for his unscrupulous actions.

By the looks of the leaked photograph, it was evident that he shared a physical relationship with Celia Kay, however Metro state that the striker has moved to deny these claims. He once again took to Twitter where he clarified, ‘Ultimate precision with respect to my apologies…Yes I made a mistake but not I have not committed adultery! Things are clear…’

He was joined by Kay who also denied these claims as she tweeted, ‘Obviously no one knows how to read lol – check your sources idiots as it’s been reported we did NOT sleep together.’

With the duo denying any physical relationship of sorts, could this be the saving grace for Giroud in his bid to reclaim his troubled marriage and in turn, earn back the respect of some of the more judgemental fans out there?
