Giroud Reveals Stance Over Arsenal Future

France international, Olivier Giroud has been criticised for his lack of goals in big matches and, despite showing promise in his first season, has scored a modest 14 league goals as the senior striker in his second campaign. There were rumours suggesting that Arsene Wenger could dispose of the 27-year-old and buy a top quality striker proven at the highest level.

Arsenal are expected to buy at least one big name forward in this summer’s transfer market to strengthen their mediocre strike force. His place in the first-team could come in serious jeopardy if Arsenal can sign the likes of Mario Mandzukic, and he has been subsequently linked with a move away from the club in the summer.

However, according to Inside Futbol, the Frenchman has distanced himself from reports linking him with an exit from the Emirates Stadium. Giroud, who’s contract expires in 2016, revealed that he will be at Arsenal next year.

He said, “My contract runs until 2016, of course I’ll remain a Gunner next year, this is certainly my will. Don’t listen to the media. I am happy in London and my future lies with Arsenal.”
