RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano has decided to leave the Bundesliga club at the end of the season, according to reports in the German media.
The France Under 21 international has just over a year left on his contract and with a release clause of €60m (£55m), his decision is likely to lead to a number of bids for the centre-back.
Arsenal have been mentioned as one of Upamecano’s potential suitors, along with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City, and fans on Twitter are hoping the 21-year-old will make the move to the Emirates:

Upamecano with Saliba would be a tremendous pairing going forward.

It’s likely to be a tough battle for the promising young defender. There is not only competition from other Premier League clubs for the Frenchman’s signature with Bayern Munich and Barcelona also reportedly keeping tabs on the player.
Upamecano has been part of a defence which has the joint-best record in the Bundesliga this campaign, with Leipzig having conceded 26 in 25 league games.
