French International To Leave Arsenal Sooner Than Expected

Arsenal might be saying goodbye to France International Mathieu Debuchy who is fed up with his current situation. The 30-year-old who was brought in as a replacement for Sagna, has failed to become Wenger’s number one pick. To be fair, quality is not this issue with the right-back considering how he performed when he was in good shape. The issue is that Bellerin is too good to compete with. The Spaniard is 10 years younger, faster, more incisive, more determined and more involved in the way the team plays. There is really little to no space for the Frenchman to fit in. This season, Debuchy has only made 7 appearances and stood out in none of them. Since joining the Gunners, he spent a total of 195 days in recovery. That is a lot considering he has signed with Wenger’s side on July 2014. Basically he missed half the games he should have been featured in and only made 22 appearances which is not what Arsenal signed for when bringing him from Newcastle.

According to the Daily Mail, the thing that influenced Debuchy the most into asking for a transfer was the lack of interest from France’s boss, Didier Deschamps who warned the 30-year-old he will not be included in the group that will take part in the European Championship. Debuchy said: “At the moment I need more game time, as for the last two games I have not even been included in the squad. Everything is clear. I need more game time and that is why I will have to discuss the topic with the coach soon. We will see what offers there are between now and January, if there are any.” The right side of the defense is covered right now so maybe Debuchy could be included in a swap that would benefit both sides. The firm that manages the Frenchman is currently representing major players such as Cavani, Coutinho, Varane, Giroud and many more. They even manage some players who are followed by Arsenal such as Nabil Fekir and Adrien Rabiot.

I think we can expect some kind of a deal involving Debucky to go down before the end of the transfer window as Bellerin looks like he cannot be displaced easily due to his exceptional form and Debuchy is intent on trying to go to Euro 2016 and he cannot do that while playing for Arsenal’s reerves.
