Arsenal and Wolves have been put off by former Chelsea forward Diego Costa’s wage demands, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Gunners were linked with the 32-year-old last month after he became a free agent following his release by Atletico Madrid. However, he hasn’t found a new club so far.
One of the main reasons is believed to be down to Costa asking for €15m a year (around £254,000 a week) despite the fact that he hasn’t really scored that many goals since leaving England three years ago.
Combined with the former Spanish international’s reputation as a fiery, combustible character, it has put off many teams from approaching the striker.
In Arsenal’s case, there isn’t a desperate need to bring in reinforcements up front. Alexandre Lacazette has been in good form recently, and they do have other options, including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun, to call upon.
