The Greek international has already stated he will be open to leaving the Gunners if he isn’t a regular first-team starter, and Arteta may well grant him his wish.
The Gunners boss does not seem to trust Sokratis at centre-half and has invariably used him at right-back. With Cedric having returned to fitness, it’s unlikely the 31-year-old will get much game time if and when the season restarts.
