Former Arsenal Star Questions Suarez’s Thinking

Arsenal have been desperately trying to strike a deal with Liverpool for Suarez, however their relentless approaches have got them nowhere yet. They have also tried to tempt them with an offer as high as £40 million, but that too has not helped as the Merseyside club have reinstated that the Uruguayan is not for sale.

This story has been making headlines the entire summer now but nothing has come of it and Arsenal’s tireless attempts are in danger of failing. Their only hope now is the fact that Suarez is determined to quit Liverpool in search of Champions League football which Arsenal can provide. They want to see him force his way out of Anfield and Arsenal want to be out there waiting for him once he does.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright was asked about his former club’s pursuit of the 26-year old and he revealed that he does not see a point in a switch to London, thinking purely from Suarez’s standpoint. He spoke to the BBC and was quoted by The Evening Standard as saying, “I’d welcome him at Arsenal with open arms,”

“But if I was Suarez, when you look at everything, it does seem strange he would want to go to Arsenal. I would give Liverpool another season.”

Wright’s comments echo those made by Liverpool’s captain Steven Gerrard who himself said that he was hopeful of seeing Suarez line up alongside him once again for Liverpool next season and give a real push this time to get into the top 4 which has been eluding them in recent years.

Not only Suarez’s Liverpool team-mate, but even an Arsenal legend has questioned his prospective move to Arsenal. Will he pay any attention to Wright’s comments and reconsider his stance of asking to quit Liverpool and possibly move to Arsenal? Or has he made up his mind already and there is nothing which can possibly convince him to think otherwise?
