Former Premier League Winger Labels “Excellent” Arsenal Attacker As “Crucial” In Beating Manchester City To The Title

Former Premier League winger Florent Malouda has said that Kai Havertz is crucial if Arsenal are to win the league.

Havertz already has four goals and one assist in the Premier League, with his last coming before the international break in the Gunners’ 3-1 win over Southampton.

The German attacker has scored in every league game that the Gunners have played at the Emirates Stadium so far this season and could prove to be their main goal-scoring threat.

Former Chelsea attacker Florent Malouda believes that Kai Havertz will be vital in Arsenal’s pursuit of title rivals Manchester City.

He told Coin Poker: “If Arsenal are going to win the title this season, then Havertz will be crucial. They will need Havertz to find his top form. The only thing that is missing for Havertz at Arsenal is a trophy because hes been doing well since he joined them. His form since January has been excellent.”

The winger claims his success is down to the fact that Arsenal have been playing him as an out-and-out striker, something that Havertz didn’t get whilst he was at Chelsea.

“For ages people have spoken about his best position.” Malouda added, “he was playing in a number of different roles for Chelsea, but I think at Arsenal, theyve given him the confidence and theyve given him the opportunity to play as a striker.”

Havertz’s form at Arsenal compared to Chelsea

There was plenty of intrigue surrounding the signing when Kai Havertz moved to Arsenal because of the lack of consistent form at Chelsea.

The Gunners paid £65 million for the German international in the summer of 2023 which prompted much criticism from fans and pundits. However, it has proven empty criticism as Havertz has become one of the Gunners’ main scoring threats.

Since joining the club, Kai Havertz has scored 20 goals in 62 appearances which averages out at 0.3 goals per game at Arsenal. Whereas, the German scored 32 in 139 games for Chelsea which is 0.2 per game.

Mikel Arteta will hope that Havertz continues his excellent form as so far in the Premier League, the attacker is on course to finish the season with 19 goals which is an impressive tally.
