The Brazilian has featured rarely under Arteta, despite having burst onto the scene under previous manager Unai Emery. Injuries haven’t helped whilst his participation in the Olympics over the summer months meant he hasn’t been able to make his mark this season either.
However, Martinelli’s superb volley to put Arsenal 2-0 up at the weekend will hopefully kickstart his campaign. We shall see if he can get more game time from here on out.
