The Swiss international is believed to be attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including the Gunners, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City.
Zakaria has less than six months remaining on his current deal so he could sign a pre-contract agreement but his team, Borussia Monchengladbach, will consider letting him leave for as little as €7m (£5.84m) in January.
