Fergie Return A Possibility – Wenger

Fergie Return A Possibility - WengerSir Alex Ferguson pulled down the curtain on an illustrious management career at the end of last season after he announced his retirement as Manchester United manager. After dedicating his services to the Old Trafford outfit for over quarter of a century, he stepped down as the league’s longest serving manager and after earning his 13th league title.

He has now gone upstairs and is a director at the club, overlooking the job his successor David Moyes is doing. There have been several enticing offers for him from across the globe after his retirement, with the slim hope that he might be lured out of retirement by taking up a fresh challenge, however no such progress looks likely to happen on that front, at least for the time being.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger however refuses to believe so as he feels that a return for Ferguson could be a possibility. Wenger has replaced Ferguson as the league’s longest serving manager as he is in the 17th year of his job with the Gunners, and the Frenchman has likened their job to being a drug which one cannot get rid of easily, as Metro report.

When asked about a possible Ferguson return, Wenger was quoted as saying, “In six months we will know more about whether he will come back,”

“You cannot rule it completely out. It is difficult to take a drug for 30 years and suddenly get rid of it.”

Ferguson has been in the news lately following the release of his much publicized autobiography where he has given a lowdown of the good, bad and ugly of the footballing world. There has also been rumors about him possibly returning to management, and seeing the way United are currently struggling to get going under Moyes, these rumors have intensified, with many foreseeing Ferguson coming out of retirement and bailing United out of their problems.

Though this still is a very farfetched possibility, do you see Ferguson coming back into management any time soon?
