The Guardian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reassured Gunners fans that Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes will be announced as a new Arsenal player very shortly.

Things have gone slightly quiet since last week when it was revealed the Brazilian had completed his medical ahead of his £27m move to the Emirates. However, when asked about the situation on Twitter, Romano said there was nothing to worry about:

That will come as a tremendous relief to some supporters who were worried there had been a last-minute hiccup in negotiations. Napoli and Manchester United had also been involved in talks and there is always a concern that the player could have had a change of heart.

At the time of writing, Gabriel’s move to Arsenal hasn’t been officially announced but from what Romano is telling us, it does seem that the 22-year-old will be unveiled by the Gunners as a new signing very soon.
