Ezequiel Lavezzi To Cover Arsenal’s Left Wing In 2016?

Wenger has a good chance of bringing in an experienced and very feisty left winger to fill in the gap left by Podolski. According to The Guardian, Arsenal are interested in signing Ezequiel Lavezzi who is out of contract in June 2016. The 30 year old forward who made 12 appearances for PSG this season and only scored a goal, does not seem interested in continuing his collaboration with the French side. His substitute status created a rift between him and PSG manager, Laurent Blanc, a rift that will not be ended until they part ways.

Arsenal could definitely take advantage of this situation and make Lavezzi an offer. He has been on Wenger’s list for a while now and, despite being over the age limit in terms of transfers, he could still join the Gunners. The big question is what would Lavezzi bring with him to North London?

The thing that fans could look forward to the most should be the Argentinian’s attitude. His situation is a lot like that with which Sanchez was faced. We can go as far as to say that their character is very similar as well. Arsenal could use someone with Lavezzi’s determination especially during Champions League games. There is a problem with the 30-year-old though. If you watch him play you will notice that he is winded after one or two runs and that his physical condition is not as good as it should be to make an impression in the Premier League. Playing a game every 3-4 days with teams like Chelsea, City, Liverpool or United might not be up Lavezzi’s alley. If he would be the player he was while performing for Napoli, Wenger should not even blink when thinking about making an offer. Now, it’s kind of hard to decide if Arsenal could benefit off of signing the Argentinian.
