Arsenal are yet to dip in the transfer market with only two days left for the January window to slam shut. The 2-2 draw against Southampton highlighted the need to buy at least a couple of players with injuries and suspensions taking their toll.

Manager Arsene Wenger has now identified young German star Draxler as the player to add further quality to his squad. According to the Daily Star, Arsenal have submitted a bid of £24.7 million to Schalke for the 20-year-old.

Draxler has a release clause of £37 million but Arsenal are unwilling to match that amount. They have been in discussions with the German outfit since last summer and it has been reported that Draxler is ready to join the Gunners during this transfer window.

Chelsea have also been also linked with the star but they are out of the running after the capture of Mohamed Salah from Basel, paving the way for a move to the Emirates Stadium for the most talked about Arsenal target of the winter window – COME ON Julian Draxler come play for the best team in the world!!!!!
