Arsenal are still interested in signing Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin, according to reports in the English media.

The 24-year-old, who is believed to be valued at around £50m by the Toffees, has been on the Gunners’ radar for some time and it seems they could make a move for the England international in the New Year.

Both Calvert-Lewin and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins are thought to be on the London club’s shortlist of targets but some fans on Twitter feel the Everton striker may well be the better signing:

Calvert-Lewin has developed into a prolific goalscorer over the last few seasons. He has already scored three goals in three appearances this campaign, while he managed 21 in all competitions last year.

Whether he is worth £50m, though, it is difficult to say. A replacement for Alexandre Lacazette will be needed if, as expected, the Frenchman leaves the Emirates in the near future and Calvert-Lewin looks like he could be his successor.
