Everton Agree Deal To Sign Arsenal Star For £40m

Everton have agreed a fee in the region of £40m for Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi, according to the BBC. It remains to be seen whether the deal will be finalised on time with the deal sheet having to be submitted by the 5pm deadline.

The Nigerian international was unlikely to be a first-team regular at the Emirates this season, following the arrival of Nicolas Pepe from Lille, and it appears that the Gunners have opted to let the midfielder leave.

Deal sheets don’t necessarily mean a deal has been done. Everton and Arsenal both have until 7 o’clock this evening to submit all the paperwork for the transfer to be made official by the Premier League.

Iwobi came through the youth step at the London club, joining the Gunners while he was still at primary school. He made his senior debut in October 2015 in the 3-0 League Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

The Nigerian has gone on to make 149 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 15 goals and contributing 27 assists.
