Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to call for Arsene Wenger to step down as the club’s manager following their defeat in the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City.
The Gunners were humbled 3-0 at Wembley by Pep Guardiola’s side, failing to win the league cup yet again despite reaching the final of the competition three times since the turn of the century.
Sergio Aguero capatailised on some sloppy Shkodran Mustafi defending to opening the scoring early on, before veteran defender Vincent Kompany doubled the Citizen’s advantage in the second half.
David Silva then completed the scoring seven minutes later to cap-off what was a day to forget for the Gunners.

The dilemma for Arsenal fans however came not in the defeat, but in the manner in which it happened. Facing a brilliant City side – perhaps the best England has ever seen – not many could have expected Arsenal to blow away the Premier League leaders, but many were disappointed to see Arsene Wenger’s men roll over as early and as easily as they did.
Amongst the critics were club legend Ian Wright, who said his former side lacked the fight they needed to beat City on the day.
“Against Manchester City it was always going to be a tough ask. They have been magnificent all season, but it was disappointing the way Arsenal played. There was a lack of fight, lack of determination.” said Wright.
“It’s a final and players were walking. You don’t want to see the team you support in a final put in such an insipid performance.”
The defeat capped off a miserable week for the Gunners, who lost 2-1 to Swedish outfit Ostersunds in the Europa League mid-week, and now many of the Arsenal fans think it’s time for a change in North London …

If I hear the word “unlucky” out of Wenger’s mouth 1 more time…. UGH!!! Hey Arsene, you weren’t unlucky! It wasn’t the refs fault. Take a good hard look in the mirror-the problem is you! Out thought, out fought. If you love the club (not the money), set it free! #AFC #WengerOut

Been a die-hard fan since '03 but that was the last straw man. I'm officially boycotting the remainder of the season. It honestly is the most "sucky" part about my life; supporting such a spineless team week in week out for the past +10yrs.. I'm done. #AFC #WengerOut

I turned 21 yesterday. I don’t drink at all.
But I’ve already made a promise that the day Wenger either leaves or announces he’s leaving, I’m getting the strongest alcoholic drink possible and celebrating like there’s no tomorrow. 💯 #WENGEROUT
