England Receive Chamberlain Boost Ahead Of Uruguay Clash!

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain injured his knee during a World Cup warm-up game against Ecuador around 14 days ago. England boss Roy Hodgson decided against replacing the 20-year-old with scans revealing that he should miss only around two weeks of action.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has now resumed training and is set to return in England’s second group stage match against Luis Suarez and Uruguay, according to the Express. The report suggests that Oxlade-Chamberlain had his own individual training session while the rest of his teammates prepared for their opener against Italy.

With the Three Lions losing their opener 2-1 to the Italians who were inspired by Andrea Pirlo, Hodgson knows that only a victory will do against Uruguay, who were surprisingly beaten 3-1 by Costa Rica.

In the almost winner takes all affair against Uruguay, Oxlade-Chamberlain has given Hodgson a major boost by stepping up his rehabilitation and being able to feature for England in a days’ time.
