GK – Fabien Barthez – Petit played with Barthez in the France national team, and during his five year spell at Monaco.
LB – Lilian Thuram – He then selection Thuram at left back, who he won the World Cup with in 1998. He also played with Thuram at Monaco.
CB – Marcel Desailly – The third French player in the team, Desailly played alongside Petit during his time at Chelsea, where he made over 150 Premier League appearances.
CB – John Terry – Terry spent almost all of his career at Chelsea, making 717 appearances for Chelsea, winning five Premier League titles with the club.
RB – Manuel Amoros – Another French defender, Petit played with Amoros at Monaco.
