Emery Eyeing City And Liverpool After Arsenal Make It Ten Wins In A Row Against Leicester

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is targeting the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool at the top of the league after the Gunners’ 3-1 win against Leicester City last night.

It was the London club’s tenth win in a row and the Spanish coach says he is keen to put as many points on the table as possible as they chase down the pacesetters:

“I think we need to continue with the calm, with thinking each match like a big possibility to continue in our way.”

“And for us, it’s very important today to win against Leicester because they are behind us, but near, and today I think we are creating a big distance for another team that is behind us.”

“And then in front, we are looking near other teams like Liverpool, like Manchester City, like Chelsea, but for us, it isn’t important for us to think about the end.”

Arsenal are now just two points off the top after the first nine games following yesterday’s win against the Foxes.

Many supporters wouldn’t have expected to be this close following losses in the opening two games against Manchester City and Chelsea, but results have improved markedly since then.

Emery will be hoping that the Gunners’ best winning streak since 2007 can continue for a bit longer. The club have Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League on Thursday night before a trip to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace on Sunday.
