Eddie Howe ‘perfect’ for Arsenal says BBC pundit

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe would be perfect replacement for Arsene Wenger, says BBC pundit Don Hutchinson.

Wenger will take charge of his last ever game as Arsenal boss this afternoon when his side travel to Huddersfield Town, ending a near 22-year reign in North London.

A number of high profile names have already been touted to replace the Frenchman, including Carlo Ancelotti, Thomas Tuchel and former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique – who is the bookies favourites to fill the soon-to-be vacant role at The Emirates.

Hutchinson however, believes Arsenal should look closer to home when it comes to finding a replacement for Wenger.

“I think he’s the perfect candidate,” Hutchison said on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily when asked about Eddie Howe’s credentials.

“There’s bigger names out there, but what I see in Howe is that he’s quite flawless in terms of his temperament.

“When you see Bournemouth over the last three or four years, you see a team that goes through a patch.

“Right ‘what have you got’? You might have to do something different.

“They keep playing football – it’s the Arsenal way, it’s the Bournemouth way.

“They keep playing and keep playing, because they’re good enough.

“The only game Bournemouth changed was against Liverpool, but Howe never changes and never panicks.”

Howe’s contract at Dean Court expires in 2020.
