€25 million Arsenal target drops big hint over future

Arsenal target and Sweden international Emil Forsberg has dropped a huge hint over his future.

Forsberg, who currently plays for Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, has been heavily rumoured to be on his way out of Germany this summer after attracting a host of potential suitors with his dazzling displays for Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side.

Only last month it was revealed that Arsenal had tried to sign the Swede during the January transfer window when they made some huge moves with the signings of Henrikh Mkhitaryan in straight swap deal with Manchester United for Alexis Sanchez and with the record buy of Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for €65million from Borussia Dortmund.

So do Arsenal need another wideman? You could say that with the loss of Alexis Sanchez and the sale of Theo Walcott to Everton that the Gunners could do with signing another player with the ability to play wide especially when it looks like the deal to acquire Thomas Lemar which fell apart on the last day of the summer transfer window in 2017 will not be revisited.

Much of this depends on who takes over from Arsene Wenger as the new boss will surely have a view on whether Arsenal should sign Emil Forsberg. You can find the latest odds on the people in the frame to replace Wenger at online-betting.org and the new manager will likely have the most say on whether the Gunners go back in for the Swedish international.

German football expert Rafa Honigstein said last month, speaking on the Totally Football Show podcast: “Emil Forsberg has been in and out of the (RB Leipzig) team with injuries, and they’ve really missed him a lot.

“He is still a guy who really wants to go to the Premier League. He was very upset when Arsenal’s offer was turned down straight away by Leipzig.

“I think (Arsenal) will come back in for him because he has got a lot of talent.”

And Forsberg’s latest comments suggest Honigstein could be right.

Following Leipzig’s most recent defeat to Hoffenheim at the weekend in which the midfielder was shown a red card to effectively end his season, Forsberg simply tweeted: “Thanks for everything.”

Cryptic. Could this mean he is Emirates bound?
