Former Premier League striker Dwight Yorke has named two strikers that Arsenal should sign in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are expected to add a goal scorer in the summer after seeing injuries to both Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz.
Many have called for Arsenal to sign a number nine, something that they failed to do in January, despite making a bid for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins. They were also linked to the likes of Matheus Cunha and Mathys Tel in the transfer window.
However, as they didn’t sign a striker, Mikel Arteta will have to wait until the summer before he gets his number nine, but who should the Gunners pursue?
Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke picked out two names that he would go for, if he was the Arsenal boss. Yorke told CasinoBeats.com: “I think it was clear to everybody who was watching that Arsenal needed to really energise their team with a big name signing, a big personality coming in to the club to really give the place a lift because that can be enough to get you over the line.
“I looked at Benjamin Sesko, and he’s a good player as well. I think him and Isak are the two players that I would have tried to sign to give you some kind of momentum going into the latter stage of the season.”
Arsenal could sign Sesko or Isak in the summer
Arsenal have been linked heavily with Benjamin Sesko, and are expected to make a move for the RB Leipzig striker during the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old is expected to cost around £70 million, having made 22 Bundesliga appearances for Leipzig this season, scoring 10 goals.
Meanwhile, Arsenal could get a huge boost in their pursuit of Alexander Isak, as reports suggested that Newcastle would be willing to sell the striker should they fail to finish in the Champions League places, as he wants to play Champions League football next season.
Isak has been one of the best attackers in Europe this season, netting 19 goals in 24 Premier League games for Eddie Howe’s side. He has also been linked to Liverpool as a replacement for Mo Salah.
