Arsenal and Tottenham are both looking to sign Manchester United defender Eric Bailly in January, according to reports in the English media.
The London clubs are believed to have initially registered their interest in the Ivorian international during the summer, only to be knocked back by the Red Devils.
However, since then, Bailly has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho. Gunners supporters on Twitter had a mixed reaction to the news:
I would definitely take him in a heartbeat. He's a solid defender. No surprise its Mourinho that's destroyed him.

I'd prefer koulibaly from Napoli

Would have him 20 to 30 million

He's not bad but I'd leave this transfer to Spurs if it's true. We have defenders of his quality, we need better, not the same.

Another dodgy, injury prone Man Utd cast away? How could we refuse ?
— James (@JamesLAHK) 15 November 2018
Not sure if this would be a good deal for us. Don't really think we need someone like him. Maybe a Koscielney replacement.

Needed.

Fake News, if #mufc don't need him why should @Arsenal ?

The centre-back has not played a single minute for United since being substituted in the first half in the 3-2 win against Newcastle back in October.
Bailly is said to be unhappy at this lack of game time but the decision to sell will be down to his club. It is said the Manchester side are still reluctant to offload the 24-year-old.
United believe his poor form could be down to injuries and long distance travel when away on international duty, but if they do sign a new centre-back in January, they may revisit their position on the Ivorian.
