Current Arsenal Squad Are Improving According To Wenger

The Gunners have a very healthy bank balance this summer and as a result, have been linked to a plethora of top quality players like Stevan Jovetic, Gonzalo Higuain and Bernard, however Arsenal have not been able to lure any of these players yet as Jovetic and Higuain have instead moved to Manchester City and Napoli respectively, and Bernard is edging closer to a move to Shakhtar Donetsk.

They have had bids rejected for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and have since not been able to make any progress on that front too. As a result, Arsenal fans are fearing the same old routine of yet another summer full of promise which ultimately culminates into no new substantial signings whatsoever. Wenger however views the current situation as nothing to worry about, as he remains optimistic about his current squad’s quality to achieve the club’s targets for next season, be it with or without any new signings.

Wenger was reported by ESPN FC as saying, “”We are still working on improving our squad, but we have a base of young players who get a chance here, who started in the Premier League, like Szczesny, Jenkinson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wilshere, Ramsey, Walcott – that is unique, nobody else has done that,”

“These players can have a special bond and they are on the way upwards, they are not over the hill. They will be better next year and that is why I am confident we will be stronger next season.

“Our target now is to transfer that confidence into the start of the new season and it is vital for us to have a good start.”

Wenger has expressed his views on the current situation which once again do not match completely with that of the Arsenal faithful who want to see a big name player arrive at the Emirates Stadium. Do you see it happening though before the transfer window slams shut? Or do we risk seeing the wrath of the fans once again?
