Could Wenger Really Move To His Home Country?

Wenger extending his contract with the Gunners may not be just a matter of time. It looks like the Frenchman will end up continuing with one of the most interesting projects in European football. This summer will come with some interesting transfers and some major changes in clubs management. Mourinho will probably end up on Stamford Bridge and Carlo Ancelotti may be tempted to take his place coaching Madrid. If these moves will take place, there is a possibility that Wenger could be tempted to move to his home country in order to take over PSG. The only issue with him going to France may be his conservative transfer policy that is not at all in tune with PSG investors that love to spend big money on transfers.

Wenger’s contract expires at the end of the year. He failed to win any trophy during the past 8 years and is now struggling to score a place in next year’s Champions League. Even though he is Arsenal’s most efficient manager in all of the club’s history, he may feel that his time is up. According Dailymail, Ancelotti is sure to leave PSG, but his destination is not yet certain. Rumors have it that he may even end up coaching in the Premier League. If the Italian decides to leave, Wenger could replace him according to French newspaper Le Parisien. Manchester City is another great option for Ancelotti, who will surely be targeted by a lot of powerful clubs. The Gunners are looking to start in a new direction and have great expectations for next season. They have the biggest transfer budget in Arsenal’s history and are ready to bring in some quality players. The Frenchman never has agreed to pay exorbitant amounts of money for footballers and has preferred to invest in youngsters. The lack of results though influenced those players and many of them left to find glory.

There is no telling what will happen before the ending of the season. There are 4 more fixtures left and decisions will be made after a line is drawn but it would be one of the biggest surprises in football if Wenger was to walk away from the Emirates and take the PSG job but stranger things have happened.
