Arsenal are keen admirers of Wolves winger Pedro Neto and could yet make an approach to sign the Portuguese international before the transfer window closes, according to journalist Dean Jones.
The former Eurosport reporter claims the Gunners have made “enquiries” about the 22-year-old previously, and it could be an option that Mikel Arteta’s side pursue if they opt for a Premier League proven player:
“I think Pedro Neto could be one to look out for, There have been some enquiries made along that path and I think that’s one that might get talked about a little bit more in the next week or so.”
Neto is still getting back up to speed after a serious knee injury. He did return to training all the way back in February but he only began to show glimpses of his best form in the final weeks of last season.
With Wolves said to value the forward above £50m, there are question marks over whether Arsenal should invest that much in the player, considering his recent injury history.
Alternatives, including the likes of PSV’s Cody Gakpo, Villarreal pair Yeremy Pino & Samuel Chukwueze as well as Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi have all reportedly been looked at, so we shall see if Neto emerges as the number one target.
