“Could Be An Interesting One…” Romano Drops Hint After Arsenal And Chelsea Are Linked To 50M Rated Portuguese Ace

Neither Arsenal nor Chelsea are currently in negotiations to sign Wolves winger Pedro Neto, according to Fabrizio Romano.

There have been reports that the Portuguese international has been offered to a number of Premier League clubs but Romano believes no bids for the player have been made yet. However, he doesn’t rule out a move happening before the transfer window closes:

“There’s been a lot written about Pedro Neto’s future at Wolves, including links with big names like Arsenal and Chelsea. My understanding, however, is that so far the situation around Pedro Neto is still quiet. There are no advanced negotiations. Wolves are focused on completing the Matheus Nunes deal and then evaluating Pedro’s future in the coming days. It’s not an advanced deal yet, but could be an interesting one in the final days.”

Mikel Arteta’s side are known to be after a winger, having failed in their attempts to recruit Raphinha earlier in the summer. The likes of PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo, Villarreal’s Yeremy Pino and even Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi have been mentioned as potential alternatives since then. Neto is another name to add to the list.

At 22, he is certainly the type of player that Arsenal like to target but, after recently recovering from a serious knee injury, you do wonder whether it is worth risking paying a sizeable fee to secure his services. Reports suggest he could cost around £50m.
