Granit Xhaka’s wife has shared a family photo with the Swiss international wearing a knee brace.
The midfielder picked up the injury in the second half of the 3-1 win over Tottenham at the weekend, with Spurs’s Lucas Moura having fallen on his planted right knee. The picture shared on Twitter suggests a long absence:

After the game, Arsenal manager MIkel Arteta did not sound too optimistic about Xhaka’s injury, stating all the signs suggested it was a bad one:
“Unfortunately he got an injury and I’m pretty worried because it doesn’t look very positive at the moment.”
There has been no official update from the club’s medical department yet, but it is safe to say that he won’t be in the squad when the Gunners take on Brighton at the Amex on Saturday.
Supporters will be hoping that Xhaka did not suffer anterior cruciate ligament damage, which would rule him for the rest of the season. Everyone will be keeping their fingers crossed that the news is better than expected.
