Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed that the Ligue One side have been in talks with clubs about selling midfielder Houssem Aouar.
Both Arsenal and Tottenham have been linked with the Frenchman in recent weeks and, while he didn’t confirm which teams had made contact about the player, Aulas claims there has been interest, although no formal bids have been received:
‘Despite several discussions, no concrete offer has been made, at least for the moment.
Aouar was the subject of a formal bid from the Gunners last summer but there has been far less speculation about a move to the Emirates this year, despite the 22-year-old reportedly being available for only €25m (£21m).
After the 6-0 win over West Brom in the Carabao Cup last night, manager Mikel Arteta suggested that most of Arsenal’s transfer business before the window closes would be outgoings, rather than incomings.
However, with reports that Aouar may even be available on loan ahead of Tuesday’s deadline, the Gunners could yet swoop in for one of their long-term targets.
