Club ‘Resigned’ To Losing 17M Rated Midfielder To Arsenal With Player ‘Waiting For A Signal’ To Sign

Anderlecht are “resigned” to losing Albert Sambi Lokonga to Arsenal, according to Het Laatste Nieuws.

The Belgian newspaper reports that while a transfer fee is yet to be agreed, a deal is thought to be close with Anderlecht keen on getting a “guaranteed” €20m (£17m) for the 21-year-old.

The Gunners’ last offer was €14m upfront, with €3m in add-ons, so there is believed to be scope for negotiation which should lead to Lokonga making the move to the Emirates very soon.

It is said that Lokonga is simply “waiting for a signal” to sign on the dotted line for the London club, with reports suggesting that the player has rejected offers from other teams in order to get his move to the Premier League.

Whether the midfielder will get his wish in the coming days, we shall have to wait and see but it seems, in the Belgian press at least, he is pretty much an Arsenal player already.
