City Planning To Irk Arsenal With Sagna Bid?

Sagna is running down his current contract which is due to expire in the summer. Arsenal have a offer on the table but thus far, any attempts made by Arsenal and Sagna’s representatives have been unsuccessful in reaching an agreement. It is being feared that the Frenchman might not be at Emirates Stadium next season.

The 30-year old was brought to England by Arsene Wenger back in 2006 from Auxerre, and currently earns £60,000 weekly. He has however not been awarded with a raise in salary since 2008, and reports suggest that he is unhappy about the fact that his loyalty towards Arsenal and Wenger has not been acknowledged and rewarded well.

Joining the long list of suitors is now Arsenal’s domestic rivals Manchester City, who now feel the need to strengthen their back-line according to the Daily Star. Arsenal and City have been at loggerheads this season at the top of the pile, and are in a fight of their own for the league. City have identified Sagna as an ideal addition to their defense, and want him to follow the likes of Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure to swap Emirates for the Etihad.

With the current rivalry between the two clubs, do you see Arsenal agreeing to sell their reliable full-back to City?
