Christian Falk Reveals Arsenal’s Interest In 325K A Week Bayern Munich Ace

Arsenal were interested in Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry last summer before he signed a new contract, according to Bild reporter Christian Falk.

The forward was heavily linked with a switch back to England before the start of the season, but Falk says the Gunners were priced out of a move due to the player’s wage demands.

Gnabry put pen to paper on a €19m a season (£325,000 a week) deal last July, keeping him at the Allianz Arena to the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

Arsenal went on to pursue Raphinha and Mykhailo Mudryk before eventually snapping up Leandro Trossard from Brighton during the January transfer window.

Whether a move for Gnabry will be revisited in the future, we shall have to wait and see. The 27-year-old has scored 12 goals and provided 11 assists in 34 appearances this season but he has been used as a substitute more often than not in recent weeks.

Manager Julian Nagelsmann has only started him 14 times in the league, and there is still a chance he may seek to leave Bayern for more first-team football. Whether that could lead to Arsenal reviving their interest in their former player, though, is another matter.
