Chile Star Set To Snub Arsenal Interest

The Gunners have lost their first-choice right-back Bacary Sagna to Manchester City this summer and are on the lookout for replacements. Serge Aurier was heavily touted to switch to the Emirates in the summer but the deal has reportedly hit a standstill due to the ongoing World Cup.

Arsenal are focusing their attention elsewhere and have targeted a move for Chile star Isla, who is having a fine World Cup campaign. The 26-year-old can play in a number of positions but his recent performances at the World Cup means his price will likely go higher.

Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the Chilean as Brendan Rodgers looks to bring a new right-back with doubts creeping over the defensive ability of Glen Johnson.

However, both clubs have been dealt a blow with Isla wanting to stay and fight for his place with the Old Lady, according to the Daily Star.

Isla said, “I’m working hard for Chile and for Juve. I know that the fans love me, everything will depend on the coach. I’m happy to continue my adventure at Juventus.”
