Chelsea And Liverpool ‘Join’ Battle To Sign £50m Rated Arsenal Marksman

Chelsea and Liverpool are both keeping tabs on Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to 90min.com. The website claims the Blues will “join” the battle for the 30-year-old as they look to strengthen their forward line.

They are worried about losing out on RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner and have, therefore, turned their gaze to the Gunners striker whose current deal expires in 2021.

Reports in Spain earlier this week claimed that Arsenal would be prepared to sell Aubameyang for €55m (£50m) at the end of the season due to his contract situation, with Barcelona very keen on the player.

90min.com report that the Gabonese international is also attracting admiring glances from Liverpool, who are looking to add depth to their squad. However, it seems they will only consider a move if a deal for Werner doesn’t materialise.

Whether the Gunners would even countenance a sale to another Premier League club, it does seem doubtful. If Aubameyang doesn’t sign a new deal, a move abroad is the likeliest possibility.
