Charlie Nicholas Makes His Prediction Ahead Of The London Derby

Charlie Nicholas is expecting it to be a close affair when Arsenal face Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tomorrow evening.

The Sky Sports pundit was pretty damning about the quality of the two teams but he feels that the Gunners will edge the encounter, with Mikel Arteta’s side presenting a greater threat going forward:

“Tottenham could raise their game, but Arsenal will be dangerous on the counter-attack. Serge Aurier makes mistakes, and Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will both play as Eddie Nketiah is suspended, but I do think Arsenal could see them off.”

Nicholas has gone for a 2-1 win to Arsenal, which is a pretty fair prediction considering the form of the two teams. Spurs have been struggling for consistency since the restart and their game plan under manager Jose Mourinho looks confused and muddled.

In contrast, Arteta has begun to stamp his identity on the team. After a difficult start against Manchester City and Brighton, they are now unbeaten in five games.

Derbies can be difficult to predict but with the game being played behind closed doors, you would have to think that will favour the Gunners. We shall have to wait and see what happens tomorrow night.
