Charles Watts Makes Big Claim About Thomas Partey’s Fitness Ahead Of Arsenal’s Game Against Leeds

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey could be fit to play Leeds this weekend, according to Goal‘s Gunners correspondent Charles Watts.

The journalist claims that “sources close to the player” have told him that the Ghanaian international “should be fine” for the game on Saturday:

Partey was left on the bench for Ghana’s 1-1 draw against Angola in an African Cup of Nations qualifier on Monday evening, with manager Chris Hughton confirming after the match that the player was suffering from a “small” injury.

The 29-year-old picked up a leg issue during a training session the day before the match but it isn’t believed to be related to his hamstrings.

To manage Partey’s fitness, Arsenal sent physio Simon Murphy with him on international duty but it clearly didn’t stop him from sustaining an injury. The midfielder will be assessed by the club’s medical staff on his return to London to see whether he is able to face Leeds.
