Ceballos Reveals Which Date In June The Premier League Will Return

Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos say he believes the Premier League will resume on June 20th. There has been talk of a return a week earlier on June 12th but the Spaniard told RTVE Radio in Spain (quotes via Metro.co.uk) that he has been told a different date:

“We are going to start a week late with respect to what is being talked about in Spain, which is June 12, and we are going to start the league on the 20th.”

It is not a surprising revelation considering the fact that there are concerns that players won’t have enough training to build up their fitness to return to match action before the end of June.

Bundesliga players were in training for five weeks before they returned to play matches last weekend and with players having only returned to training grounds at Premier League clubs at the start of this week, the June 20th date looks more realistic.

A vote on full-contact training is expected to be held next Tuesday, with Premier League teams then likely to rubber-stamp fixtures in June at the end of next week.
