Cazorla Tips Former Boss To Succeed At Manchester City

Cazorla has spent the majority of his playing days under Pellegrini during the duo’s days at Villareal, followed by Malaga, after which the Spaniard made the switch to English football with Arsenal last year. He has had a highly successful debut season with the Gunners where the creative midfielder has become the fulcrum of Arsenal’s attack by operating in either a central or a wide role with equal aplomb.

Following the sacking of Roberto Mancini as Manchester City boss after an unsuccessful season, there has been intense media speculation suggesting that Cazorla’s former boss Pellegrini could take charge at the Etihad Stadium. Though it has been made clear by Pellegrini himself that no agreement has been reached yet, and that he is still the manager of Malaga, the rumors circling around him have simply refuse to die down.

Cazorla was asked about his opinion on the possible arrival of Pellegrini in the English Premier League with Manchester City, and he expressed to Sky Sports that Pellegrini will definitely succeed as City boss. He said, “What can I say about Manuel Pellegrini? He has been very important for my career.”

“With Manchester City, if he goes there, he’ll do spectacular things and they will get better as a team.”

“He’ll adapt to the Premier League. He’ll change City’s style but the players he has got, they’ll adapt very well. I hope the best for him.”

“If he goes to City, he deserves that and I’ll be happy for him. He’s ready as he likes pressure. He’s ready for any team.”

“In Madrid, he didn’t have the luck. It doesn’t mean he’s not able to be at any club in the world.”

With Cazorla convinced that his former manager will do wonders with City, do you agree with him on this? Will he transform City and wrestle back the title from Manchester United, or will he simply be another manager who will be heartlessly axed by the owners if he has one bad and unsuccessful season?
