Carragher Says Talisman “Is Too Good For Arsenal” Amid Claims He Could Be Sold For Just £20m

Jame Carragher says that Arsenal are at risk of losing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with the club struggling to finish in the top four.

The Sky Sports pundit has compared the Gunners captain’s situation to Luis Suarez and Liverpool, which eventually saw the Uruguayan international leave Anfield for Barcelona:

“At this stage, there’s no doubt about it: Aubameyang is too good for Arsenal. We had that at Liverpool at times with Luis Suarez and certain players you’re desperate to keep hold of.”

“You’re thinking as a club that you want to build around this player and if that player goes, you almost feel like you’re starting again. That’s the problem you have when you’re trying to get back into the top four and establish yourself as Arsenal are trying to do.”

Aubameyang has one year remaining on his contract at the Emirates and the London club do have a difficult decision to make if he doesn’t sign an extension to his current deal.

It is being reported that the 30-year-old will be sold if an offer of £20m is received but if no interested parties meet their price tag, they will allow the player to run down his contract.

The Gunners Head of Football Raul Sanllehi has previously vowed that such a situation where Aaron Ramsey was let go on a free transfer would not happen again, but the depressed prices in the transfer market may see them change their stance.
