Carragher Names The Two Summer Additions That Have “Completely Changed” Arsenal

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher believes the signing of Gabriel Jesus and the return of William Saliba to the club has transformed Arsenal into potential title contenders.

The two players have made a big impact at both ends of the pitch and Carragher genuinely believes that Mikel Arteta’s side can challenge at the top of the table as a result:

“The signing of Jesus and Saliba coming in at the back, [it] almost feels like it’s completely changed the whole aspect of Arsenal right now. I think they could be a lot closer [to winning the league] than, you know, people give them credit for.”

Whether Carragher is going overboard with his comments, we shall have to wait and see. The Gunners have some big tests coming up between now and the World Cup.

After taking on North London rivals Tottenham this weekend, they host Liverpool in their next league fixture. Arsenal then have away games at Leeds and Southampton, prior to a home match versus Nottingham Forest.

At the beginning of November, Arteta’s men will make the trip to Stamford Bridge for another derby against Chelsea, before another away fixture at Wolves. Jesus and Saliba are both expected to play key roles in all of those games.
