Campbell Backs Arsenal To Make January Bid For 13 Goal Bundesliga Frontman Who Will “Keep Defences On Their Toes”

Ex-Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has urged his former club to pursue a deal for Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram during the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old has scored 13 goals for his club this season, and was also part of France’s squad that made it to the World Cup final. He is expected to be available on the cheap next month, with his contract set to expire in June, and Campbell believes the forward could give Mikel Arteta’s side a different option up front:

“I think he could be a good addition, someone who can play across the front and someone who can give us a bit of physical presence up there because, although Eddie has been working on his physique and looks a bit stronger, (he is) somebody who is bigger, stronger, somebody more physical. That will keep defences on their toes, that’s for sure.”

Thuram is definitely a player that is worthy of some consideration. The Gunners need to strengthen their forward line following the injury sustained by Gabriel Jesus, and the Gladbach star is someone who could not only fill in during the Brazilian’s absence but also add depth right across the front three.

The Frenchman has played just as many matches as a winger as he has as a striker during his career. Other clubs, including Tottenham, Manchester United and Newcastle are also said to be keeping an eye on the player so Arsenal may have to move fast if they want to secure his signature next month.
