Burnley Right-Back Linked With Arsenal

23-year-old, Kieran Trippier was ever present in Burnley’s side last season as they finished second in the Championship behind Leicester City to clinch promotion to the Premier League. The England U-21 international made 46 appearances and scored two goals in all competitions for the Clarets in their promotion winning campaign.

The report suggests that Arsenal, along with Southampton and Newcastle, have watched Trippier in action with the former Manchester City defender having just a year left on his current deal.

The Gunners are looking for a new right-back due to Bacary Sagna’s imminent departure from the club. Toulouse’s Serge Aurier is a highly probable replacement, but Arsene Wenger is also contemplating a bid for Trippier.

Burnley don’t want to lose any of their big players since winning promotion to the lucrative Premier League. They have also received positive news with regards to Trippier’s contract. With just a year left on his deal, he has revealed that he is happy to stay at the club.

He said, “I’m happy at Burnley. I’m 10 minutes away, close to my family and friends, so we’ll see what happens.”
