Bundesliga Giants Consider Making Bid For Arsenal’s Number One

Bayern Munich are eyeing Arsenal’s Bernd Leno as a possible replacement for Manuel Neuer, according to the Sun. The Bundesliga club are considering a couple of different options to replace their current first-choice keeper.

They are also said to be targeting Barcelona shot-stopper Marc-Andre ter Stegen but they are not hopeful of prizing the player away from the La Liga champions.

Instead, they are weighing up an approach for Leno who is currently Germany’s third-choice goalkeeper behind Neuer and ter Stegen.

The 27-year-old only moved to the Emirates from Bayer Leverkusen for £22.5m last summer, but he has firmly established himself as Arsenal’s number one.

Leno has not missed a single minute of first-team action in the league this season, but he has conceded 17 goals in 12 appearances with just two clean sheets.

Much of that, though, is down to the Gunners’ poor defence and it appears Bayern see enough talent for them to consider bringing him back to Germany.
