Arsenal Ace Leads United And Liverpool Stars In Ratings For World’s ‘Most Promising Youngster’

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has been rated the “Most Promising Youngster” of his age group in the world by the CIES Football Observatory.

The statisticians have ranked teenagers by assessing the number of minutes they have played compared to the standard of teams they are playing for, with Saka coming out on top for the class of 2021.

Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood is second on the list, followed by Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile in third. Derby’s Jason Knight is seventh in the ranking, with Liverpool’s Curtis Jones in ninth and Reading’s Michael Olise in 10th.

Saka’s placing at the top is not surprising, considering the number of games he has played for Arsenal since January 2020; the start date that has been used by CIES to assess the “capital experience” of young players.

This season alone, the 19-year-old has made 32 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners, scoring six goals and contributing seven assists.
