Arsenal defeated the mighty Bayern and showed the world that football is not all about strategy. The Gunners put their soul into this game and managed to fend off a team that has won all the games they played in the Bundesliga and the Champions League since the beginning of the season. Cech was brilliant and probably got Wenger to give himself a pat on the back for one of the best transfers in the club’s modern history.

Bellerin was also amazing. Even though he had some trouble at the beginning of the game and lost Costa a few times, he made up for it with a sprint that ended with Ozil scoring the second goal of the night. The young defender is going to definitely be Arsenal’s next star.

Sanchez showed a kind of determination you do not see every day and despite being a bit to in love with the ball at times, dominated his adversaries whenever he had the chance. Walcott proved he is the striker to count on this season even if he was denied by Neuer on every occasion. He created the chances, he got in front of goal and it took some amazing goalkeeping skills to keep him from scoring. Lucky Arsenal have Giroud who got the first goal after a somewhat lucky header.

The game ended with Bayern counting over 600 passes and a 70% possession rate. As stated previously though, it is not all about tactics. Arsenal showed tonight that they are capable of beating anyone. Hopefully they will manage to keep this spirit until the end of the season when a reward will surely come.
